Hi I’m Claire and I’m based Kerikeri/Waipapa in the stunning Bay of Islands, New Zealand where I live with my family, 2 beautiful dogs and horse.  

Following a successful career in finance, I emigrated to Aotearoa in 2007 and I retrained as a mental health counsellor and life coach - a role which I worked in for some 12 years. I’ve photographed since a youngster, and I began photographing professionally a few years after emigrating.   I found the empathy and understanding gained on my life journey shaped my photography and the way I worked - enabling me to capture people's stories, and the essence of an occasion or their personality through my lens.  

Photography is my passion and joy. Over the years I’ve invested in professional, high quality equipment that has enabled me to work on location or in the studio in Waipapa and deliver great results. I approach every shoot with the attitude of delivering my absolute best and making the shoot enjoyable for my clients.

The Far North community is relatively small and whilst that can limit opportunities, it has meant that over the years I have expanded my brief to be able to shoot almost anything! I love the challenge and the fact that every day and every shoot is different.

I enjoy sharing my experience and run a series of workshops throughout the year.
